Who is Kickstart Your Indonesian for?

This language challenge is for you if...

• you have an Indies background but cannot speak the language of your ancestors AND/OR
• you are planning a visit to Indonesia and are excited about the idea of being able to chat with the local population AND/OR
• you are interested in Indonesian culture and are curious to know if learning Indonesian online is a good fit for you.

I have no knowledge of Indonesian at all. Is this challenge right for me?

One hundred per cent, yes! The language challenge is aimed at complete beginners or people with minimal knowledge of Indonesian.

Is this a complete beginners course?

No, Kickstart Your Indonesian is not a complete beginners course. It is a hands-on workshop and a fun language challenge for people who want to start learning some Indonesian. Kickstart offers a step-by-step approach and is designed to be completed in 4-6 hours. What will I learn in Kickstart?

The Kickstart Your Indonesian challenge offers the combination of a hands-on, online workshop, a workbook with various mini assignments, a supportive community, a number of short audio and video clips, and feedback from a highly qualified and experienced teacher.

You'll follow a 3-step approach:

1. watch: you'll first watch the hands-on workshop with Indonesia specialist Klarijn Anderson-Loven, who will introduce you to the Indonesian language
2. learn: you'll then download the workbook, and study the dialogues in more depth 
3. speak: last but not least, you'll be invited to do the mini assignments and start speaking your first sentences in Indonesian! 

What do I get when I purchase Kickstart?

You'll get direct and unlimited access to an online workshop hosted by Klarijn, which you can watch in your own time; a comprehensive, downloadable workbook with accompanying short video clips and audio files, recorded by native speakers of Indonesian; and 30 days access to a private, pop-up Facebook group, for live online encouragement and support.

How long will it take me to finish the challenge?

From start to finish, the Kickstart challenge will take roughly 5 hours to complete, divided over several days. The challenge is completely online and can be done in your own time and at your own pace. After you've finished the challenge, you'll still have access to the workbook and the training videos, but the Facebook group may be archived at some point.
